5th Annual Toys for Tots Drive
This year marks the 5th Annual Toys for Tots Drive sponsored by the Nashua Teachers' Union. Typically, we would have drop off locations for new, unwrapped toys at the 17 schools and the Union Office. With the uncertainty of when we will move to full hybrid and to try and make this possible with proper social distancing, we have changed how we will proceed this school year. We will continue to have a drop off for new, unwrapped toys at the Union Office. New this year, we will accept monetary donations. We will take all donations and purchase toys to donate to our drive. We thought this provide anyone who wanted to participate a way to do so without having to come to the office. We will accept donations starting today through December 1st.

Looking at Your Contract
Each of the four units of the Nashua Teachers' Union - Food Service, Paras, Secretaries, and Teachers - have a specific contract that lays out expectations and working conditions. While each contract shares some common language, each contract is also unique to the unit that negotiated and approved the contract. If something comes up, I recommend browsing your contract. Sometimes the answer is on the page in black and white, while other times it's the grayest gray you have ever seen. Your building reps and officers are here to help if you need us.

Scholarship Committee Seeks New Members
The NTU Scholarship Committee is seeking new members. The committee meets a few times a year in the spring to review the scholarship applications and select the winners based on established criteria. The NTU gives out three scholarships to graduating high school seniors and one scholarship to a student in an undergraduate/post-secondary program. The committee will be meeting this fall to review the both NTU scholarship applications related materials. If you are interested in joining the committee, please contact Adam (president@nashuatu.org).
