Negotiations

The Nashua Teachers' Union maintains 4 Collective Bargaining Agreements covering 4 units and more than 1,500 people. The 4 units are Unit A - Teachers, Unit B - Para-educators, Unit C - Secretaries, and Unit D - Food Service Workers. Each unit has a small number of representatives that actively negotiate with the Nashua School District and Board of Education for wages, working conditions, benefits, and others topics specific to each unit. Negotiations typically begin about 6 months prior to the expiration of the current agreement.

Steps in the Negotiation Process

  1. Active Negotiations between both Parties
  2. Mediation (if no agreement in Negotiations)
  3. Fact-Finding (if no settlement after Mediation)
