Message from the President

There was a Special Board of Education meeting held on Thursday, November 5th. The meeting, originally scheduled for November 2nd, was to discuss additional funding approval. Last week, the State of New Hampshire made available to school districts a Supplemental Public School Response Fund. The amount given to each district was derived using a formula of $200 per student in the district based on the official enrollment numbers from October 2019. For Nashua, that's a total of $2,156,000.00. These funds can cover additional costs created by COVID-19 and can cover expenses dating back to March 1, 2020. These funds must be used by December 30, 2020. Some items charged to the CARES Act money can now be charged to this account and free up some of that money. That's helpful because the CARES Act money can be spent in 2021. Below is the list of how the district will spend this money. It was approved by the Board of Education 8-0; Mr. Guarino was absent.

Favorite Thanksgiving Side Dish Showdown

We had an upset in the race. Cranberry Sauce beat Sweet Potato Casserole with a little less the two-thirds of the vote. The other races weren't close either. On to the Final 4!

How to Cook a Thanksgiving Turkey

When I was teaching 1st grade, I would ask my students how to cook a Thanksgiving turkey. Each student wrote their own recipe for cooking a turkey. I have never laughed so hard in my life reading their recipes. Here are 2 new recipes from November 2010.
