Over the past year, the more than a dozen NTU members have been completing research of their choosing through the Teacher Leader Program. The Teacher Leader Program is sponsored by the AFT. Gary Hoffman brought the Teacher Leader Program to Nashua after attending the 2014 AFT Convention in Los Angelos. Since then, Nashua has been one of the strongest Teacher Leader Programs in the country. This year, the Teacher Leaders met through Zoom. For completing the program, participants are paid a stipend of $1,500.00. Much of that money comes from AFT, however, the NTU also pays a portion of the stipends. You can view their research papers and findings at https://www.nashuatu.org/teacher-leaders-program/2020-2021-presentations.
I would like to congratulate each Teacher Leader participant for their work on a project that meant something them. Completing this program is additional time and effort, and they were successful. I would also like to thank the Teacher Leader Facilitators: Gary Hoffman, Patrick Johnson, and Chelsea Folini for their time and energy which allows us to have this program each year.
The Nashua Teachers' Union has applied to have the Teacher Leaders Program again next school year. I am please to announce that we have been accepted into the 2021-2022 Teacher Leaders Program! Information about how to register and more information will come out in the fall.

Wow. This has probably been one of the closet surveys we have had thus far!
