Week of March 6, 2023

75 Years of the NTU

On June 27, 1949, the Nashua Teachers' Union received its charter from the American Federation of Teachers. On June 27, 2024, the NTU will turn 75. To that end, the Board of Directors has authorized me to form an Ad-Hoc 75th Anniversary Committee to work on how to celebrate this great accomplishment.

If you are interested in serving on the ad-hoc committee, please email me at president@nashuatu.org. My plan is to schedule our first meeting for the end of March/beginning of April.

Negotiations Updates

Paraeducator Negotiations Update

The Paraeducator Negotiations team reached a new tentative agreement with the Board of Education on February 22nd.

The Paraeducator Contract Ratification Meeting has been scheduled for Monday, March 13th at 4:00pm in the auditorium at Nashua High School North. There will be a hard stop of 5:00pm because the room is reserved after our meeting.

I will be sending out a revised document with changes to the contract. All the changes presented at the last meeting remain in the contract. There are only three changes, one of which is a change to the salary schedule. This document will be sent out the week after vacation.
